After 76 wonderful years of life, Stephen Michael Williamson passed away on March 20, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, MS.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 25th, from 2:00–3:00 PM at Mount Vernon Church in Columbus, MS. A graveside service at Mount Vernon Cemetery will follow, where he will be laid to rest beside his family.
Steve was born September 23, 1949, in Columbus, MS, to the late Katherine Cadell Williamson and Hubert Williamson. He attended New Hope School (K–12), East Mississippi Community College (EMCC), and Mississippi State University. Steve was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family deeply. He shared 51 beautiful years of marriage with his wife, Judy Guertin Williamson, and together they built a life centered on love, faith, and family. He worked as an outside salesman for many years at Industrial Specialties and later retired after 20 years as a salesman with Motion Industries. Steve will be remembered for his love of golf, spending many years playing at Briarwood Country Club, working and fixing things in his workshop, and spending time on vacations with those he loved. He also enjoyed visits to Waffle House, riding the golf cart, and watching his hummingbirds. In recent years, he loved watching and sharing TikToks, bringing smiles and laughter to those around him. In addition to his parents, Mr. Williamson was also preceded in death by his siblings, Terry Williamson (Roma), Ann Wagner, and Cherry Cook (Rusty).
Steve is survived by his loving wife, Judy Guertin Williamson; his daughter, Stephanie Williamson Dial (Taylor); his cherished grandchildren, Tate (“Tater Bug”), Ella (“Ewua”), and Tripp (“Trippy”); his brother, Buddy Williamson (Barbara); and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Taylor Dial, Michael Williamson, Chad Williamson, Richard Bohon, and James Williamson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tate Dial and Tripp Dial.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mount Vernon Cemetery Fund.
