Tamie Childers Ward 63, of Columbus, MS gained her heavenly wings Sunday, May 14, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN.
Memorial visitation will be Saturday, May 20, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel in Columbus, MS. Memorial Service will be Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel, Columbus, MS with Bro. Steve Lammons officiating.
Tamie was born July 6, 1959, in Aberdeen, MS to the late Clyde Childers and Vera Clark Childers Crimm. She attended Aberdeen Elementary School and graduated from Millport High School in 1977. She graduated from Bevill State Jr. College in 1980. She worked at Shelton Pharmacy for 14 years. Her faith was undeniable and loved sharing with others the power of prayer for many years. She was an avid Nascar (Dale Earnhardt) and dirt track racing fan. She loved her racing family. She was also an avid Alabama Football fan.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother - Jerry Childers, and nephew - Kevin Childers.
She is survived by her loving husband of 33 years William R. (Ricky) Ward of Columbus, MS, Son-Nathen Ward of Meridian, MS, sister- Jeanie Funderburk (Darrell) of Millport, AL, two grandchildren- Joseph Ward and Lacey Ward of Meridian, MS, two nephews- Matt (Brittany) Funderburk of Tuscaloosa, AL, Ben (Christina) Childers of Aberdeen, MS, one niece- Angie Funderburk of Millport, AL, 8 great nephews, 3 great nieces, 3 stepbrothers- Donny Crimm of Millport, Al, Johnny Crimm (Debra) of Ethelsville, AL, Kenneth Crimm (Katy) of Millport, AL, 2 stepsisters- Cathy McCrary (Floyd) of Millport, AL, Marilyn Mordecai (Jimmy) of Millport, AL, 8 step nephews, 5 step nieces, and a host of great nieces and nephews.
