Teresa Mathis Barksdale, 60, of Columbus, MS passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at her residence.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 21, 2021, from 1:00-2:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home. A service will follow at 2:00 PM. Interment will be in Friendship Cemetery with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing.

Mrs. Barksdale was born on November 29, 1960, to the late Thomas Nathaniel Mathis and Betty Sue Harrell Mathis. She worked for the United States Postal Service as a Mail carrier for years. Mrs. Barksdale enjoyed going to the casino with her friends. She loved to cook and spend time with her family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Barksdale is preceded in death by her brothers- Thomas N Mathis, Jr. and Kevin Mathis.

Mrs. Barksdale is survived by her daughter- Kayleigh Woodard; sons- James (Tasha) Barksdale, and Brett (Doris) Barksdale;5 grandchildren;  sister- Dona Nowland; and brothers- Stanley Mathis, and Jeffery Alan Mathis.

Pallbearers will be James Barksdale, Brett Barksdale, Jeff Mathis, Stan Mathis, and Terry Sutton.
