Dewey Camp Dewey Camp, 69, of Columbus, MS passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at Windsor Place, Columbus, MS. Visitation for Mr. Camp was Thursday, February 16, 2012 from 6 – 8 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Service will be Friday, February 17, 2012 at 2 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Nick Cannady officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mr. Camp was born February 4, 2012 to the late Lewis Edward and Dosha Richardson Camp in Columbus, MS. He played football for East Mississippi Community College under Coach Bull Sullivan. In 1964 he married Edna Fulton together they raised 6 children. Mr. Camp was a member of Murrah's Chapel Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. He retired in 2010 from his logging business. Mr. Camp enjoyed driving his wagons being pulled by his horses and mules during the Columbus Pilgrimages and Parades. In addition to his parents, Mr. Camp is preceded in death by his brother – Lewis Denmon Camp, daughter – Joyce Cox and granddaughter – Lexie Camp. Mr. Camp is survived by his wife – Edna Camp, Columbus, MS, daughters – Lana O'Bryant, Como, MS, Bertha Smith, Columbus, MS, sons – Duncan Camp, Tommy Camp and Lewis Edward Camp all of Columbus, MS, 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Richard Prishmont, Tim Fulton, Gary Richardson, Bubba Richardson, Todd Fulton, Toby Atkins, Mike Hanson, Jimmy Brasfield and Chesley Brownlee. Honorary Pallbearers will be James C. Dison, Eugene Nabor and the Staff of The Windsor Place, Columbus, MS.
