Thomas "Tom" Holman

Thomas Gale "Tom" Holman, 77 of Columbus, MS passed away Friday, February 12, 2016 at his residence.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 14, 2016 from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS.  A funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jamie Turner officiating.  Interment will be in Memorial Gardens, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Holman was born November 20, 1938 in Reform, Choctaw County, MS to the late Joe Tom and Mavis Pauline Bagwell Holman.  He was a graduate of Eupora High School and a veteran of the United States Army.  Mr. Holman married Virginia Ann Hallman in 1960 and moved to Columbus 50 years ago.  He loved working in the yard but considered his job his hobby.  He was employed with Omnova and retired after 44 years of service.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Holman was preceded in death by his brother – Bill Holman and sisters – Norma Pruden and Sue Haley.

Mr. Holman is survived by his wife of 56 years – Virginia Ann Hallman Holman, Columbus, MS; daughter – Sandra G. White, Baldwyn, MS and sister – Peggy Holman (Roy) Wallace, Jackson, MS.

Pallbearers will be Randy Duncan, Bo Holman, Eddie Wayne Kennedy, Joe Holman, Jeff Holman and Bruce Holman.  Honorary pallbearers will be Roy and Nell Grantham, Tony Torrez, Billy Bagwell and Clyde Thomas Williams.
