Thomas Cooper Toney, 71, of Caledonia, MS passed away Monday, January 1, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle, Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 4, 2018, from 5:00-6:30 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will be Friday, January 5, 2018, at 11:00 AM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Don Harding officiating. Interment will be at Egger Cemetery, Caledonia, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Toney was born September 4, 1946, in Louisville, MS to the late Earma Jean Roebuck Clark. He was a director of a Sunday school class at Kolola Springs Baptist Church, Caledonia, MS. Mr. Toney was also a Commander at the American Legion Post 69, and a member of the VFW. He loved to garden and had a green thumb as people say. Mr. Toney loved to be outdoors and enjoyed doing as much as possible outside. He most of all loved every one of his grandchildren. Mr. Toney was an MSU alumni and a US Air Force veteran. He truly never met a stranger. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his father- Ray Clark, and his two sisters- Wanda Joy Toney and Katie Jean Toney.

Mr. Toney is survived by his wife- Wanda Joyce Norris Toney of Caledonia, MS; son- David (Kelli) Edwards of Ethelsville, AL; daughters- Michele Sterling of Columbus, MS, and Ashley (Felix) Lugo of Caledonia, MS; grandchildren- Destin Edwards, Jacob Stripling, Christopher Edwards, Crishara Sterling, Juliana Contreras, Cesar Contreras, Adriana Lugo, Maria Lugo, Carlos Lugo, and Cristian Lugo; and great-grandchild- Addalynn Grace Lane.

The family would also like to say a special thank you to Anne-Marie Lucius, she helped care for Mr. Toney.

Pallbearers will be Chuck Robertson, Mark Robertson, Wayne Colson, Jacob Stripling, Willie Thomasson, and Allen Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Felix Lugo, Destin Edwards, Olden Newman, Ezell Carter, Ray Williams, Scott Williams, and Emanuel Walden.
