Joel Todd Taggart, 56 of Columbus, MS passed away Sunday, November 10, 2019, at his residence.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 16, 2019 from 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS.  A memorial service will follow at 5:00 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jack Taylor officiating.

Mr. Taggart was born August 30, 1963 to the late M.T. and Betty Jo Trull Taggart in Columbus, MS.  He lived in Columbus his entire life and was a member of Canaan Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. Mr. Taggart was a 1981 graduate of Caldwell High School and worked with Bimbo Bakeries in delivery.  He enjoyed hunting, water skiing, and other water sports.  Mr. Taggart loved football and was an avid Mississippi State Fan.

Mr. Taggart is survived by his brothers – Marty (Beth) Taggart, Franklin, TN, Kevin (Wanda) Taggart, Columbus, MS, Tony (Betty) Taggart, Carrollton, AL and Tim (Rebecca) Taggart, Starkville, MS; an his special friend "Jay" Fowler,  his dog "BamBee"; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Johnston, Cary Compassi, Karl Ruffin, Mike Ford, Todd Davis, Daryl Thomas and the Caldwell Class of 1981.
