Thomas C "Tom" Linn, 77 of Steens, MS passed away Monday, April 10, 2023, at his residence.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 13, 2023, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS.  A funeral service will follow in the Lowndes Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Mike Smith officiating.  Interment will be at Rowan Cemetery, Caledonia, MS.

Mr. Linn was born June 7, 1945, in Caledonia, MS to the late W. A. and Mary Wilson Swanzy Linn.  He served 3 years in the U.S. Army in Vietnam during the Vietnam Conflict.  Tom attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Columbus, with his wife the former Cynthia Garmon of Columbus.  He retired in 2003 from Kroger where he worked as a butcher for 32 years.  After retirement, Tom went on to work for Lowndes Funeral Home for the next 20 years, working as a funeral assistant and then became a licensed cremationist, he became one of Lowndes Funeral Home's original cremationists and served in that capacity till present day.    Tom was a Past Master of the Columbus Masonic Lodge #5, York Rite and Shrine.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers – Billy Linn and David Linn.

Mr. Linn is survived by his wife – Cynthia Garmon Linn, Steens, MS; son – Tony Linn, Columbus, MS; grandchildren – Aaron Linn, Fort Walton Beach, FL, and Blake (Ashton) Ridgley, Caledonia, MS; great-grandchild - Paxton Ridgley, Caledonia, MS.

Pallbearers will be Tony Linn, Aaron Linn, Blake Ridgley, Tim Pounders, Delane Bosman and Lonnie Drewry.  Honorary pallbearers will be Leland Gilmore, Jr., Mark Jordan, Harold Hunnoll, Bro. Mike Smith, Willie Hairston and Avery Duncan.
