Thomas "Tommy" Atwell Spruill, 87, of Caledonia, MS, passed away Thursday, October 23, 2025, at River Place Nursing Center.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at New Salem Baptist Church in Caledonia, MS. Funeral Service will be Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 3:00 P.M. at New Salem Baptist Church, with Bro. Melton Howton and Bro. Sammy Crawford officiating. Interment will follow at Egger Cemetery in Caledonia, MS, with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Spruill was born February 8, 1938, in Hamilton, MS, to the late Mary Aileen Livingston Spruill and James Atwell Spruill. He was a former Deacon at New Salem Baptist Church in Caledonia, MS. Mr. Spruill served in the Army National Guard. He worked in farming most of his life. In addition to his parents, Mr. Spruill is preceded in death by his sister, Mary Joyce Spruill, sister-in-laws- Sallye Wright, Sybil Andrews, and Johnnie Guy.
Mr. Spruill is survived by his wife, Mary McDaniel Spruill; daughter, Mary Margaret (Scott) Shuttleworth; granddaughter, Morgan (Josiah) McKee; great-grandchild, Maverick McKee; and sister-in-laws- Lona Southerland, Connie Jones, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Josiah McKee, Glenn Gilmer, Chris Atkins, Dwight Colson, Wayne Colson, and Ryan Bates. Honorary Pallbearers will be Max Watson, Nathan Watson, John Gilmer, Don Gilmer, Tommy Vaughn, Andy Grant, Eddie Rushing, Tim Butler, Patrick Hays, Greg Youngblood, and the Men of the Senior Saints Sunday School Class.
Memorials may be made to New Salem Baptist Church Building Fund.
