Toni Wanda Thompson Toni Thompson, 70 of Columbus, MS passed away Friday June 22, 2012 at Baptist Memorial Hospital East, Memphis, TN. Visitation was Monday June 25, 2012 from 1-3 pm at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Services followed at 3pm in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel, Columbus, MS with Bro. Billy Ferguson officiating. Interment was in Friendship Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing. Mrs. Thompson was born August 3, 1941 in Columbus, MS to the late James Victor and Jessie Mae Dyer Underwood. She was a member of Hwy. 69 Church of Christ, Columbus, MS. Mrs. Thompson was a graduate of Mississippi University for Women, and taught at Stokes Beard School for six years. Mrs. Thompson is survived by her husband – Joseph "Jody" Thompson, Columbus, MS; son- Joe (Camelia)Thompson, Columbus, MS; daughter- Jean Elizabeth Thompson (Robert) Fiske, Columbus, MS; sisters- Vicki (James) Murphy, Montgomery, AL, Ann (Logan) Argo, Jackson, TN, brothers – Lynn Underwood, Korea, Wayne Underwood, Maryland; 3 grandchildren- Jessica Thompson, Heather Renee Thompson and Jacob Thompson Fiske. Pallbearers will be Dave Monahan, Keith Monahan, Rick Bishop, Mike Smith, Junior Eads and Lynn Johnson. Memorials may be made to Operation Ukraine, P.O. Box 411, Columbus, MS 39703.
