Troy Wilson, 62, of Columbus, MS passed away Thursday, July 20, 2017, at Fayette Medical Center, Fayette, AL.

Visitation will be held Sunday, July 23, 2017, from 12:00 – 1:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow Sunday, July 23, 2017, at 1:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kenny Gardner officiating.

Mr. Wilson was born February 26, 1955, in Columbus, MS to the late Arthur Wilson and Ruth Lucille Pennington Wilson. He attended Schaffer Chapel and also attended Canaan Baptist Church. Mr. Wilson worked at R & D Maintenance for a many of years and also worked for the county for several years too. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and making fishing lures. Mr. Wilson was a jockey that went all the way to Florida, Oklahoma, and many other states winning metals and awards for his riding and he loved to cook.  He loved his family, was a commercial fisherman and a river guide. In addition to his parents, Arthur and Ruth Wilson, Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his brothers- Roy Franklin and Donald Eads.

Mr. Wilson is survived by his daughters- Joni Bradford (Glenn Baldwin) of Columbus, MS, and Julie (James "Bubba") Phelps of Amory, MS; sisters- Kay Watts of Columbus, MS, Shirley Wilson of Columbus, MS, Yvonne (Matt) Hearn of Caledonia, MS, and Linda (Greg) Bolin of Columbus, MS; brothers- Richard Wilson of Columbus, MS, Harold (Jewel) Bolin of Hamilton, AL, and Junior Bolin; four grandchildren- Shane Bradford II, Dakota Bradford both of Columbus, MS, Jade Phelps of Amory, MS, and James "J.D." Phelps of Amory, MS; nieces- Amber Hearn; nephews- Michael Watts, and Lance Hearn; and many other nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be Sonny Johnsey, Glenn's BBQ, Chuck Younger, Tony Shelton, Lloyd Hendon, Bill Williams, Alton Huffman and David Bradley.
