Tyler Nelson Thompson, 22 of Columbus, MS passed away Sunday, July 27, 2014 in Columbus, MS. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 30, 2014 from 6-8 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 3 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Eddie Brock officiating and Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mr. Thompson was born August 31, 1991 in Blytheville, AR to Robert E. and Susan K. Thompson and moved to Columbus, MS seven years ago. He was of the Baptist faith and worked as an operator for MSP. He loved to play the guitar (which was self-taught), baseball, skateboarding and BMX. Mr. Thompson is preceded in death by paternal grandparents-Cecil and Irene Thompson. Mr. Thompson is survived by his father-Robert E. Thompson, West Point, MS; mother-Susan Kay Nelson Thompson, Columbus, MS; siblings-Mallory (Cade) Thompson Darby, Caledonia, MS, Abbey (Joseph) Thompson Johnson, Cedar Bluff, MS and Conrad Thompson, Blytheville, AR; maternal grandparents-Richard V. Nelson, Blytheville, AR and Patricia Ann Nelson, Knoxville, TN; nieces-Macy Darby, McKinley Johnson; nephews-Jake Darby, Cody Darby and Tate Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Roberts, Justin Hopper, Jacob Hughes, Kyle Lacer, Brook Bowen, Brennan Bowen and Alex Pannell.
