Vera Louise McGrew, 71 of Columbus,MS passed away Thursday, July12, 2012 at her residence. Visitation will be Saturday July 14,2012 from 6-8pm at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral services will be Sunday July 15, 2012 at 2 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel, Columbus, MS with Bro. James Gardner officiating and Bro.Kenny Gardner assisting. Interment will follow in the Living Faith Tabernacle Church Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing. Mrs. McGrew was born January 16, 1941 in Pheba, MS to the late Samuel O'Neal and Mae Selena Terry Brooks. She was a resident of Lowndes County for over forty years. Mrs. McGrew attended Living Faith Tabernacle Church, Columbus, MS, and was of the Pentecostal faith. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband of forty-four years, Kenneth Ray McGrew, a son-Kenneth Demetrius McGrew, four sisters and five brothers. Mrs. McGrew is survived by six children-Jackie Lynn (Mike)Flaishans , Steens, MS, Cleo Pearl McCullough, Columbus, MS, Lotilta Ann (Kevin) Smith, Canton, MS, Paulette Gail (Jimmy) Swedenburg, Columbus, MS, Nakita Jo(Jerry) Simons, Columbus, MS, Simon Daray (Nikki) McGrew, Columbus, MS, two brothers-Felix Joseph and Billy Gene Brooks, fourteen grandchildren-Matthew Baker, Lacy Baker, Tony McCullough, April Schrell, Cecilia Adams, Randy Adams Jr. , Malene Barksdale, JJ Swedenburg, Tiffanie McCool, Ashley Vail, Devin Vail, Madison McGrew, Peyton McGrew, Dakota McGrew, eleven great grandchildren-Jason Keefer, Amber Schrell, Myya Schrell, Zara Schrell, Ryan Eynick, Landon Keating, Jessie Whitaker, Riley Vail, Eric Vail, Chloe McCool, Evan Berry. Pallbearers will be James Shackelford, Randy Adams, Jr. "Bubba", Tony Wayne McCullough, Charles Barksdale, Jerry Clardy and Wayne Taylor. at 2pm in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel, Columbus, MS.
