Vessie K. "Katy" Evans, age 80, of Columbus, MS passed away Thursday, October 25, 2018, at her residence.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 29, 2018, at 2:00 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel and Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Evans was born on December 29, 1937, in Selmer, TN to the late Horey H. and Beadie Clifford Foster Carothers. She worked for many years as a cosmetologist and founded Nu-Look Salon in Columbus, MS. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Allan Patrick Evans in 1995, one son, Carl Evans and her siblings, Mary Joyce Vestal, and George Clifford Carothers.

Mrs. Evans is survived by her son, Mike Evans of Columbus, MS; sister, Elizabeth Ann Butcher; three grandchildren, David Allan (Shine Lin) Evans, Cody Patrick (Ciara Nicole) Evans, and Taylor Dawn Evans; and two great-grandchildren, Dallan Lin Evans, and Chloe Brooke Evans.
