Violet Butler, 51 of Columbus, MS passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Jackson Health Systems, Miami, FL. Visitation will be Friday, May 10, 2013 from 6-9 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 2 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel, Lowndes Funeral Home, directing. A private graveside will be held at a later date. Mrs. Butler was born June 28, 1961 in Columbus, MS to the late Prentiss and Hazel Ashcraft Wallace. She attended First Methodist Church, Columbus, MS. Mrs. Butler actively watched Beach United Methodist Church, Jacksonville, FL and was a very active minister for the community. She was a very happy person, loved helping people and enjoyed spending time with her husband. Mrs. Butler loved sewing, cooking, planning events for family and friends, enjoyed riding motorcycles and looked forward to going on family vacations. She was a loving mother to her children and was so proud of Amanda for working at United Methodist Publishing House and pursuing a PHD in Christian Counseling, and for Chris pursuing a Business Major at Ole Miss. Mrs. Butler is survived by her husband-Ermon "Butch" Butler, Jr., Columbus, MS, son- Chris Butler, Oxford, MS, daughter- Amanda Butler, Jacksonville, FL, sister- Jean Wallace Bailey, Philadelphia, MS, brothers- Randy Wallace, Florida and Johnny Wallace, Steens, MS, pet companions- Spritzer and Peeper. Pallbearers will be Joe Owens, Buddy Wyers, Stanley Williams, Ricky Nicholes, Rex Stokes and Kevin Bailey. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Townsend and Dusty Manzolillo.
