Virginia R. Ramage, age 84, of Columbus, MS passed away Wednesday, May 09, 2018, at Vineyard Court Nursing Center, Columbus, MS.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 18, 2018, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church, Columbus, MS with Dr. Shawn Parker officiating. Interment will be in Amory Masonic Cemetery, Amory, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.
Virginia Ann Reece was born in Becker MS on August 1, 1933 to Lalia Thornton Reece and Bert Alonzo Reece. She was the oldest of three siblings including her sister Helen Wright, John Reece, and B.A. Reece (deceased). She attended Becker School and graduated from Becker High School in 1951 before attending Blue Mountain College where she earned a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in 1955. She married James Homer Ramage on August 9, 1964 and subsequently moved to Columbus, MS. Virginia was a career banker, though she did depart from banking for a while to serve as the secretary at Antioch Baptist Church in Columbus MS. Virginia was an active member of the First Baptist Church and enjoyed participating in FBC's LLL meetings and her Sunday School Class functions. She enjoyed traveling to see her family no matter where the military stationed them. In addition to her parents, Mr. Ramage was preceded in death by her husband- James Homer Ramage, and brother- B.A. Reece.
Mrs. Ramage is survived by her son, Anthony R. (Paulette) Ramage of Colorado Springs, CO; two grandsons- Michael S. Ramage and Gabriel T. (Kate) Ramage; sister- Helen Wright; and brother- John Reece.
Pallbearers will be the men of First Baptist Church.
