Virginia Louise Stripling Smith, 76, of Columbus, MS passed away December 26, 2013 at Tulane Medical Center New Orleans, LA. Visitation will be Sunday, December 29, 2013 from 6 - 8 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home Columbus, MS. Funeral Services will be Monday, December 30, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Canaan Baptist Church Columbus, MS with Bro. Danny Avery officiating and Bro. Jack House assisting. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery Pickens County, AL with Lowndes Funeral Home Columbus, MS directing. Mrs. Smith was born January 13, 1937 to the late Minor and Margie Dyer Stripling in Reform, AL. She attended Canaan Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. Mrs. Smith owned and operated Lollipop Children's Clothing Store in Columbus, MS for 15 years. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband- George Raiford Smith, sister- Leatha Nickoles, and brothers- Virgil Stripling and Pete Stripling. Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter- Lisa (Greg) Weeks, Wimberley, TX; son- Scott D. (Ginger) Smith, Biloxi, MS; and grandchildren- J.J. Weeks, Jordan Weeks, Jesse Weeks, Haleigh Smith, Haller Grace Smith, and Scott D. Smith Jr. Pallbearers will be Stephen B. Simpson, David L. Bull, J. Henry Ros, Billy Joe Owen, Charles Shelton, Kenneth Montgomery, Brad Braddock, and Joe Barnes. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Lance Busch, Dr. D.F.
