Virginia Goolsby Stewart, 92, passed away Monday, July 06, 2015 at The Windsor Place in Columbus, MS. Visitation will be from 10:00am-11:00am Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Lowndes Funeral Home in Columbus MS. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00am in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Steve Lammons officiating and Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Columbus, MS. Ms. Stewart was born November 25, 1922 to the late Vester G. and Ida Small Goolsby in Laurel, MS. She married the late Randall Stewart on March 23, 1948 in Port Gibson, MS. She moved to Columbus from Petal, MS in 2009 where she was a member of the Carterville Baptist Church. She was the office manager and bookkeeper for the Hattiesburg Oral Surgery under the supervision of Dr. York in Hattiesburg, MS. She loved photography and painting, and she was a member of the Orchid Society and the Art Guild in Hattiesburg, MS. In addition to her parents and her husband, she is preceded in death by her son-Robert Drake; daughter-Jane Pace; and brother-Frank Goolsby. Ms. Stewart is survived by Sons-Randy (Charline) Stewart, Columbus, MS and Perry (Tinker) Stewart, Brazoria, TX; and nine Grandchildren.
