Walter L. Hollinger Walter L. Hollinger, 85 of Columbus, MS passed away Sunday, May 13, 2012 at Vineyard Court Nursing Home, Columbus, MS. Visitation for Mr. Hollinger will be Monday, May 14, 2012 from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Charles Young officiating and Bro. Jimmy Ray assisting. Interment will be in Mineral Springs Cemetery, McShan, AL with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing. Mr. Hollinger was born June 6, 1926 to the late Acie and Zelmara Livingston Hollinger in Pickens County, AL; he lived in Lowndes County for the past 63 years. Mr. Hollinger was a veteran of the United States Navy and worked for Owen Robertson Electric as an electrician for 32 years. He was a member of McBee Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. In addition to his parents Mr. Hollinger was preceded in death by his wife – Juanita Hollinger, brother – Ray Hollinger and sister – Joyce Hudson. Mr. Hollinger is survived by his wife – Mary E. Hollinger, Columbus, MS, step-daughter – Wanda Brackin, Columbus, MS and Donna (Todd) Myers, Madison, MS, step-son – Robert (Melba) Breitigan, Millport, AL and Dale (Lynn) Breitigan, Columbus, MS, brother – A.J. Hollinger, Reform, AL, sister – Claudine Hollinger, Fayette, AL, 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be John Brian Hudson, Bobby Lee Reese, Jimmy Dinsmore, James Edwards, Lovell Haycox, Dale Breitigan. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dale Thompson, Dr. Brad Brown, Chris Hemphill and the staff of Vineyard Court Nursing Home.
