Walter K. Worthy, Jr., 67 of Columbus, MS passed away, Friday, March 1, 2013 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Golden Triangle, Columbus, MS. Visitation for Mr. Worthy will be Monday, March 4, 2013 from 12:00 – 1:00 PM at First Assembly of God Church, Columbus, MS. A Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 PM with Bro. Jody Gurley officiating. Interment will be Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at 1:00 at Mobile Memorial Gardens, Mobile, AL with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing. Mr. Worthy was born May 9, 1945 to the late Sarah Leavenia Everett & Walter Kerney Worthy, Sr. in Whistler, AL. He was a veteran of the United States Army and moved to Columbus in 1971 from Jackson, MS. Mr. Worthy retired in 2007 as a computer technician with IBM for over 30 years. He also worked 11 years at American Trouser and most recently Burford Electric. He was a member of First Assembly of God, Columbus, MS. Mr. Worthy is survived by his wife - Sharon Worthy, Columbus, MS and sister – Bonnie K. Terrell, Panama City, FL. Pallbearers will be Benny Yarbough, Greg Lane, Aaron Lane, Nathan Godwin, Aaron Godwin and Jacob Godwin. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Esler and Tom Pritchard.
