Wayne M. Rye, 82, of Caledonia, MS, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at his residence.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 8, 2025 from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home in Columbus, MS. Funeral Service will be Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home. Burial will be at Egger Cemetery in Caledonia, MS.  Lowndes Funeral Home entrusted with all arrangements.

Mr. Wayne was born November 9, 1942, in Columbus, MS, to the late John Monroe Rye and Helen Katherine Duncan Rye. He was a member of Flint Hill Baptist Church in Caledonia, MS.  Mr. Wayne worked many years at AT&T, as an electrical engineer. He enjoyed country music, football, and dancing. Mr. Wayne loved watching TV and spending time with family and friends. In addition to his parents, Mr. Wayne is preceded in death by his wife- Hilda Honeycutt Rye; daughter- Amy Nethery; and brother- Jesse Rye.

Mr. Wayne is survived by his sister- Patricia Rye Miller; numerous step children; grandchildren- Brooke Nethery, Lauren Nethery, and Cheyne Nethery; 5 great grandchildren; and other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be- Dale Honeycutt, Larry Swearingen, Jr., Ricky Honeycutt, Bill Honeycutt, Danny Jordan, and Austin Baird.
