Harold "Wayne" Taylor, 90, passed away at his son's residence in Columbus, MS on Friday, December 29, 2023, after a brief illness. The visitation will be Tuesday, January 2, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS.  The funeral service will follow at 10:00 AM at the funeral home with Bro. Markus Thomas officiating.  A graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM at Parkway Cemetery in Kosciusko, MS with Bobby Taylor officiating.

He was born on September 2, 1933, to Edgar and Irene Taylor. Wayne married Betty Williams Taylor in 1953 and she preceded him in death in 1979. He lived most of his life in Kosciusko and attended Kosciusko schools. He enjoyed working around the family farm. He worked as a welding instructor at Holmes Community College for many years prior to his retirement.  Also, he was a charter member of Parkway Baptist Church. After moving to Columbus to be near his family, he attended Community Baptist Church. While in Columbus, he enjoyed attending events of Golden Triangle Outdoors and eating "John Deere" ice cream while visiting with those attending.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife - Betty Taylor, wife - Lily Taylor, brothers - Edgar Taylor, Jr. and Robert Taylor; sisters - Lavelle Massey, Myrtis Bailey, Thelma Grantham, and Virginia Coleman;  grandson - Nick Taylor; and great-grandson - Clay Taylor.  He is survived by one son - Larry (Debbie) Taylor; one grandson - Chris (Amanda) Taylor; and one great-grandchild -Madison Taylor.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the team that helped provide for his care in the home – housekeepers Teresa Wyers and Christine Butler, his sitters – Sandra Bush, Cindy Beckwith, and Gloria Lowery, his Legacy Hospice family – Janet Beall, Karen Barrett,  Trae Miller, Tyler Hunt, and all other Legacy employees. You all have been a true blessing!
