Herman Wayne West, 80, of Columbus, MS passed away Sunday, April 17, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT, Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 20, 2016, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Fairview Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. A Celebration Service will follow at 1:00 PM at Fairview Baptist Church with Bro. Gene Henderson officiating and Bro. Sammy Crawford and Bro. Breck Ladd assisting. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Steens, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mr. West was born January 10, 1936, to the late Herman and Nocle Sparks West in Columbus, MS. As a veteran, he served in the United States Army National Guard. Mr. West was a partner of Quinn-West Construction now known as McCrary-West Construction for 43 years. He also served as a deacon, on the building committee of Fairview Baptist Church, and on the Columbus Zoning Board. He enjoyed hunting, watching college sporting events, and following all the grandchildren's activities. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother-Rudy West and his sister-Faye West Jones.

Mr. West is survived by his wife of 55 years-Elaine Vaughn West, Columbus, MS; daughters-Karen Vickers and Kim (Terry) Westmoreland, both of Columbus, MS; brother-W. V. (Anne) West, Columbus, MS; grandchildren-Caleb Westmoreland, Alicia Vickers, Carrie Westmoreland, and Cason Westmoreland; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Bill West, Don West, Ronnie West, Steve West, Caleb Westmoreland, and Cason Westmoreland. Honorary Pallbearers will be J. B. Cox, Dennis Holliman, Dr. Rusty Linton, Jay McCrary, Lu McCrary, Joey McCullough, David Nelson, James Oliver, David Westmoreland, Michael Westmoreland, Dr. Brian Wilhite, Gary Winklepleck, and Doctors and Staff at Baptist Memorial Hospital.
