Wesley C. Rivers, 86 of Caledonia, MS passed away Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Trinity Healthcare, Columbus, MS. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 1, 2015 from 12:00 - 2:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Donald Myers officiating. Interment will be in Rowan Cemetery, Caledonia, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mr. Rivers was born May 19, 1928 to the late Willie B. and Fannie Hodges Rivers in Montgomery, Co., MS and moved to Caledonia, MS in 1958 from San Antonio, TX. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served overseas during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Rivers loved John Deere Tractors and was a member of The Church of God, Vernon, AL. He retired in 1978 as an air condition mechanic after 34 years of service. In addition to his parents, Mr. Rivers was preceded in death by his sister - Julia C. Rivers and brother - Wayne W Rivers. Mr. Rivers is survived by his wife of 64 years, Sarah Morgan Rivers, Columbus, MS; son - Ron (Becky) Rivers, Columbus, MS; daughter - Becky C. Rivers, Columbus, MS; sister - Bulia Rivers (J.D.) Bingham; brothers - William "Buddy" Rivers and William E. (Barbara) Rivers; grandchildren - Beth (Lee) Calvert, Luke Rivers and Will McReynolds and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Will McReynolds, Lee Calvert, Jimmy Wayne Rivers, Ricky Bingham, Jerry Bingham, Josh Bingham, Cody Bingham and Jessie Stewart.
