Wilber "Will" Hartle

Wilber Allen Hartle, 84 of Caledonia, MS passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017, at his residence.

Visitation will be Thursday, Jun 1, 2017, from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS.  A funeral service will follow in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Don Harding officiating.  Interment will be in Egger Cemetery, Caledonia, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Hartle was born December 24, 1932, in Leitersburg, MD to the late Joseph Edgar and Pauline Lum Hartle and moved to Caledonia, MS in 1977 from Jameson, MO.  He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Military Police force from 1951 - 1955.  Mr. Hartle retired in 1998 from Baptist Memorial Hospital – Golden Triangle after 15 years in the Maintenance Department.  He was a member of Kolola Spring Baptist Church, Caledonia, MS.  Mr. Hartle was a member of the Masonic Lodge#5, Columbus, MS, Eastern Star #53, Columbus MS, York Rite Bodies of MS Chapter, Scottish Rite #4, Meridian, MS, Hamasa Shriners, Meridian, MS, and Columbus Host Lions Club. He enjoyed carpentry especially cabinetry, woodworking and making furniture.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Hartle was preceded in death by his 8 brothers and sisters.

Mr. Hartle is survived by his wife of 54 years – Shirley Stotlemyre Hartle, Caledonia, MS; daughter – Rhonda (Mark) Towns, Spickard, MO, Lesley (Jeffery) Putnam, Caledonia, MS; sons – Curtis (Mary) Hartle, Waynesboro, PA and Terry (Melissa) Hartle, Caledonia, MS; 9 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be brother Masons.  Honorary pallbearers will be Billy West, Ken Dyer and members of Columbus Lodge #5.
