Will James Young Will James Young, 75 of Columbus, MS passed away Monday, March 14, 2011 at his residence. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2011 from 6 – 8 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 17, 2011 at 11 AM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Robert Gillis officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Gardens, Columbus, MS with military honors; Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing. Mr. Young was born June 25, 1935 in Kemper County, MS to the late Henry and Thelma Reed Young. He was a resident of Columbus, MS for the past 20 years having moved from Starkville, MS. He retired in 1975 from the U. S. Air Force as Master Sergeant and received the Bronze Star Medal of Commendation. Mr. Young retired in 1995 as a supply chief with the Civil Service after 20 years of service. He was a member of the D.A.V., enjoyed fishing and a Mississippi State football fan. He is survived by his son, Terry Joe (Dot) Young, Columbus, MS; grandchildren, Lynn Bailey, Todd Bailey, Amy Bailey, Tammy (Rodney) Godfrey and one great grandchild, Tyler Holbrook. Pallbearers will be Don Taylor, Bruce Hoffman, Rodney Godfrey, Buddy Sanders, Rufus Mason, Mike Aldridge and Larry Allred. Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Fulgham, Todd Bailey, Garland Kirkland, James Miller, Lowndes County Sheriff's Dept., Footloose Band and patrons of The Junction, members of D.A.V. and Charles Arney.
