William Herman "Buddy" Barksdale, 83, of Columbus, MS passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at D.C.H. Regional Medical Center, Tuscaloosa, AL. Visitation will be Friday, September 4, 2015 from 5:30PM-8:30PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 10:00AM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Bro. Steve Lammons officiating and Bro. Ralph Windle assisting. Interment will be in Beersheba Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mr. Barksdale was born May 16, 1932 in Lowndes County, MS to the late William Robert and Jessie Clarice Hildreth Barksdale. He married Patricia Ann "Pat" McCrary Barksdale on August 28, 1954 in Columbus, MS. Mr. Barksdale was a veteran of the United States Army. He loved gardening and farming. Mr. Barksdale was a loving husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his parents, Mr. Barksdale is preceded in death by his brother - Billy Wayne Barksdale. Mr. Barksdale is survived by his wife of 61 years - Patricia Ann "Pat" McCrary Barksdale, Columbus, MS; son - Bobby (Teresa) Barksdale, Columbus, MS; daughter - Debra (Tim) Parson, Opelike, AL; grandchildren - Brian (Amy) Barksdale, Columbus, MS, Brad (Liz) Barksdale, Memphis, TN, and Brittany Parson, Opelike, AL; great grandchildren - Heinz Barksdale and Ronni-Beth Barksdale; and sister-in-law - Peggy Barksdale. Pallbearers will be Brian Barksdale, Brad Barksdale, Brandon Dozier, Tim Barksdale, Matthew Packer, and Jay Moore. Honorary pallbearers will be Selvin Ellis, George Pridmore, George Derden, Ray Crane, Joe Fondren, Mitchell Rushing, Jimmy Hildreth, Buck Hildreth, Alton Hildreth, and the Men of Mt.
