William Thomas Burchfield, 91, of Columbus, MS, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Windsor Place in Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 28, 2024, from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Fairview Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. Memorial Service will be Thursday, March 28, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. at Fairview Baptist Church, Columbus, MS with Bro. Tommy Gillon and Alan Burchfield officiating.

Mr. Burchfield was born on April 2, 1932, in Drew, MS, to the late Thomas D. Burchfield and Carrie McDaniel Burchfield. He was of Baptist faith and was a member and usher at Fairview Baptist Church in Columbus, MS. Mr. Burchfield worked for Dyncorp as an aircraft mechanic and retired after 44 years. Mr. Burchfield enjoyed spending time with his family, whom he loved dearly.

Mr. Burchfield loved sports, especially the Braves and Ole Miss Football. He attributes his longevity in life to being an Ole Miss fan. He was nicknamed "Coach" by the many men and women he trained at Columbus Air Force Base in Aircraft Maintenance.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Burchfield is preceded in death by his daughter- Penny Joanne Burchfield; 3 sisters, and 5 brothers.

Mr. Burchfield is survived by his wife- Joan Keeling Burchfield; sons- Keith Alan (Lisa) Burchfield, Thomas Kevin Burchfield, and William Russell (Katie) Burchfield; 6 sisters; 10 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
