William "Bill" Floyd Doss, Jr., 84, of Columbus, MS passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle, Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2018, at 2:00 PM at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Columbus, MS with Dr. Bill Hurt officiating. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Doss was born January 5, 1934, in Madison, WV to the late Floyd and Nina May Doss. He was a 1951 graduate of Scott High School, Madison, WV and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. Mr. Doss was a Sunday school teacher, which he enjoyed doing, a chairman of the building and grounds, and also served on other various committees at Pleasant Hill. He enjoyed traveling and he drove cross county for many years. Mr. Doss loved to do woodwork as a hobby. He was also a Korean War veteran of the United States Air Force and served for 24 years. In addition to his parents, Mr. Doss was preceded in death by his sisters- Lora, Betty Jane, and Mabel Ann, and his daughter- Karen Porter.

Mr. Doss is survived by his loving wife of 43 years- Edna Doss of Columbus, MS; son- Bill (Ssang Mi) Doss of Gainsville, VA; daughters- Carolyn (David) Fox of Shreveport, LA, and Bonida (Earl) Kimbrough of Starkville, MS; 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be David Bartimus, Jon Bradberry, Billy Doss, Bill Doss III, Jerry Porter, and David Fox. Honorary pallbearers will be Weston Bartimus, Joshua Bradberry, Andrew Bradberry, Benjamin Bradberry, and Jason Montgomery.
