William Joseph Page, Jr., 94, One of the Greatest Generation, of Columbus, MS passed away Monday, September 28, 2015 at Mississippi State Veteran's Home, Kosciusko, MS. Visitation will be Thursday, October 1, 2015 from 2:00PM-3:00PM at East End Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will follow at 3:00PM at East End Baptist Church, Columbus, MS with Bro. Albert Wilkerson officiating and Bro. Bill Duncan assisting. Interment will be in Friendship Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mr. Page was born August 8, 1921 in Scott, MS to the late William Joseph and Allie M. Faucette Page. He was an unassuming, kind, good Daddy. Mr. Page was a master piddler. He was a member of East End Baptist Church for over 60 years. Mr. Page enjoyed fishing and camping. Above all, he loved his family. Mr. page joined the Army Air Corps in February 1941 and served in Algeria, Morocco, and Italy during WWII until his honorable discharge in September 1945. He was a lifetime member of the VFW. Mr. Page worked for Continental Trailways Bus Line as a bus driver for 40 years. After retiring from Continental Trailways Bus Line, he worked for Enterprise Car Rental for several years. In addition to his parents, Mr. Page is preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children - Ruth Young Page, brothers - Johnny Page, Charles Page, and James Page, sisters - Mary Helon Mankin, Francis Thigpen, Ardelle Ikerd, and Catheron Dantzler. Mr. Page is survived by wife - Earnestine Rasbury Page, Columbus, MS; son - Tommy (Carley) Page, Brandon, MS; daughters - Penny (Ron) Cherry, Columbus, MS and Martha Pack, Hanceville, AL; grandchildren - Greg (Marcie) Cherry, Acworth, GA, Barrett (Julie) Page, Brandon, MS, Thomas Page, Truckee, CA, Sims Page, Huntsville, AL, Chandler (Maleah) Jernigan and Ashley (David) Miller, both of Hanceville, AL; great grandchildren - Cameron Cherry, Griffin Cherry, Kylie Page, Jackson Page, Jeremy Davis, Landry Miller, and Palmer Horn; step children - Jan (Adam) Bacile, Livonia, MI and Pam (Ken) Simmons, Debary, FL; step grandchildren - Ashley (Kevin) Taylor, Kris Wadsworth, Ryan Bacile and Jeff Bacile; 6 step-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Greg Cherry, Barrett Page, Sims Page, Chandler Jernigan, Jeremy K. Davis, and David Miller.
