William Perry Mason William Perry Mason, 74 of Steens, MS passed away Saturday, July 16, 2011 at his residence. Visitation was held Monday, July 18, 2011 from 6 – 8 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Services were held Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at 11 AM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Curtis officiating and Rev. Eddie Lawson, assisting. Interment will be in Lone Oak Cemetery, Steens, MS; Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing. Mr. Mason was born March 28, 1937 in Steens, MS to the late Edward Alexander Mason and Tennie "Peggy" Mason Johnson. He was a lifetime resident of Steens, MS. He was a member of Lone Oak Church of Christ and served as an elder. Mr. Mason retired in 2002 after 20 years as a business owner of the Ole Country Store and Mason Tire and Lube. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Faye Lowe Mason; sister, Inez Mason Graham; brothers, Marshall Mason, Albert Mason and Clayton Mason. Mr. Mason is survived by his wife, Shirley Curtis Mason, Steens, MS; daughter, Melodie Mason (George) Heath, Tupelo, MS; son, William Mark (Lisa) Mason, Steens, MS; step-children, Melissa Curtis (Michael) Dodson, Caledonia, MS; Pamella Curtis (Scott) Oswalt, Columbus, MS; sister, Sara Mason Slatery, Glen Burnie, MD; Three Grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Charles Bush, Michael Dodson, Brent Mitchell, Keith Mitchell, Scott Oswalt and Jerry Reynolds. Honorary pallbearers were Bruce Irwin, Wayne Logan, Ralph Logan, Bill Heath, Henry Hall, Perry Bush, Bob Hemphill, Henry Vaughn, Teddy Burton, Willis Logan, Phillip Bell and the men of Lone Oak Church of Christ. Memorials may be made to charity of donor's choice.
