William D. McKellar William D. McKellar, 89 of Columbus, MS passed away Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Aurora Australis Lodge, Columbus, MS. Visitation was held Sunday, February 06, 2011 from 12 – 1PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral services were held Sunday, February 06, 2011 at 1PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel, Columbus, MS with Bro. Steve Brown officiating. Interment was in Beersheba Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing. Mr. McKellar was born November 1, 1921 in Pheba, MS to the late Charles Albert and Mattie Vale McKellar. He was a resident of Columbus, MS his whole life. Mr. McKellar worked as a foreman for 15 years at Beneke and enjoyed doing yardwork and raising a garden. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. In addition to his parents, Mr. McKellar is preceded in death by his wife – Eva Katherine Dockery McKellar; wife – Effie King McKellar; and sisters – Anna Williams and Mary McCable. Mr. McKellar is survived by his daughters – Estelle Cook, Bruce, MS; Mary Sadrack, The Villages, Fl; Alice Faye Goodwin, Northport, Al; son – Charles McKellar, Columbus, MS; sister – Ada Jean Massey, Columbus, MS; eight grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Kirk McKellar, Bill Cook, Michael Cook, Frank Goodwin, Bob Sadrack, and Fred McCaleb.
