William "Ryan" Slayton, 40 of Columbus, MS passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – GT ,Columbus, MS. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Friendship Baptist Church with Bro. Jim Cooper officiating and Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing. Mr. Slayton was born November 20, 1972 in Columbus, MS. He was a lifetime resident of Lowndes County and attended Friendship Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. Mr. Slayton loved to cruise the roads, automobiles, enjoyed music, movies and making people smile. He is preceded in death by his mother, Brenda Holliman Odom. Mr. Slayton is survived by wife, Lattra Herbert Slayton, father, Charles Slayton, step-mother, Nancy Slayton, children, Erika Slayton and Casey Slayton, brothers, Steve Slayton and Lance Slayton, best friend, Danyale Walden and a host of nieces and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Kendrick, Mason Scott Blankenship, Zachary Keith Nash, David Franklin Logan and Cody Alexander Mims.
