William "Bill" Tuggle William "Bill" Lawrence Tuggle Jr., 79 of Columbus, MS passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT, Columbus, MS. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 2 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel, Columbus, MS with Bro. Jim Hollloway officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing. Mr. Tuggle was born February 17, 1933 in Fayette, Alabama to the late William L. Tuggle, Sr. and Lila B. Gibbs.He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and Navy. Mr. Tuggle owned and operated Tuggle Chevron Service Station in Columbus for a number of years, before opening Tuggle Nursery in New Hope. He moved to North Carolina for two years and then moved back to Columbus and opened A & B Plant Nursery before retiring in 2002. Mr. Tuggle enjoyed fishing, and spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Leona V. Woolbright, brothers, Bill Drinkard and Kilby Tuggle. Mr. Tuggle is survived by wife, Katherine Ann Hood Tuggle, Columbus, MS, daughters-Vickie T. (William T.)Maxwell, Cary, N.C. and Jennifer Lynn (Lester) Butters, Ocean Springs, MS, son-Charles "Tim" Tuggle, Columbus, GA, sisters-Mary Branyon, Selma, AL, Jewel Davis, Fayette, AL, Margaret Livingston, Lawrenceville, GA and Shirley Hogan, Jacksonville, FL, grandchildren-Christopher Tuggle, Sydney Maxwell, Jordan Maxwell, Laura "Katie" Godfrey. Pallbearers will be Christopher Tuggle, Bill Maxwell, Les Butters, Chad Butters, Marvin Beard and Michael Woolbright. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy and Ann Carroll, J.W. Richards, Betty Clardy and Betty Swansee.
