Louise Franks, age 91, of Tupelo, MS passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice, Tupelo, MS.

A memorial service will be held at Lowndes County Funeral Home in Columbus,  MS on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at 2:00 pm with visitation at 1:30 PM.  Pastor Danny Avery will be officiating.

Born in Bigbee, MS, she lived most of her life in Lowndes County, where she was a member of Mt. Vernon Church in Columbus, MS. She retired from United Technologies after 30 years of service. She enjoyed singing, dancing, cooking, jewelry making, gardening, collecting, painting and many arts and crafts. She loved country music, especially Merle Haggard. Her Lord and her family meant so much to her. She was a very loving mother and grandmother, and she had the sweetest disposition and was kind to everyone she met.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Manley King Shackelford, who died in 1969; her second husband, Richard Wesley Franks, who died in 2012; her middle daughter, Cynthia Kate Shackelford, who died in 2011; her parents, Johnnie and Lena Mae Pearson of Amory, MS; and her siblings. Eugene Pearson of Amory, MS, Betty Underwood of Ft. Walton Beach, FL. and Larry Pearson of Atlanta, GA.

She is survived by her sister, Dee Lind of Arizona;  her daughters, Vallory Shackelford Williamson of Tupelo, MS, and Mae Shackelford of Frederick, MD;  daughter-in-law, Rachel Eide of Tupelo, MS; grandchildren, Melanie Williamson of Pensacola, FL, Monica Williamson Jordan (Scott) of Memphis, TN, Marci Williamson Wagner (Scott) of Tupelo, MS, Robert Young, of Clinton, MS, and Cissy Young Kennedy (Chris) of Bovina, MS; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
