Willie L. "Bill" Murrah, 85, of Columbus, MS passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at his residence. Visitation will be Monday, December 29, 2014 from 1-2PM at Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel, Columbus, MS. A memorial service will follow at 2PM at the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Robert Gillis officiating. Mr. Murrah was born September 2, 1929 in Tupelo, MS to the late John L. and Lessie Gregg Murrah. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Steens, MS. Mr. Murrah loved woodworking, building furniture and working in his yard. He also loved watching the History Channel and watching grandchildren play baseball. In addition to his parents, Mr. Murrah is preceded in death by his wife - Ruby "Arlene" Robertson Murrah, daughter - Donna June M. Neyman, and sister - Gayle M. Holmes. Mr. Murrah is survived by wife - Joyce Mae Murrah, Columbus, MS; sons - David Wayne Murrah, Columbus, MS and John "Douglas" Murrah, Columbus, MS; daughters - Lessie "Diane" M. Stone, Columbus, MS and Debra Kay M. Nichols, Picayune, MS; step-son - Barry Lowery, Ankeny, IA; step-daughters - Krystal Hale, Bremerton, WA and Kristi Faulkner, Pensacola, FL; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 1 niece and 3 nephews.
