Woody Luter, 72 of Maben, MS passed away Monday, August 20, 2012 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT, Columbus, MS, after a courageous battle against cancer. There will be a "Going Home Celebration" Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 1 PM at the First Baptist Church, 615 2nd Ave. Maben, MS. Woody was such a fun, joyful man and did not want a sad day but a celebration of his life where his friends could come to say goodbye. Mr. Luter was born August 5, 1940 in Hattiesburg, MS to the late J.K. and Bertha Brown Luter. He had a varied career these many years and many interest, but was happiest when he was riding his horses. Mr. Luter is survived by his wife-Barbara; daughter- Melanie (Charlie) Helm , Tuttle, OK; daughter Terri Ann (Ricky) Shoemaker, Waynesboro, MS; granddaughters- Dakota and Ali, great-granddaughter- Jadyn, and brother-Keble (Virginia) Luter, Laurel, MS.
