Elsie Zeda Catherine Smith, 14 of Columbus, MS passed away Friday, July 3, 2015 in Houston, TX. Visitation will be Friday, July 10, 2015 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will be Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kevin Taylor and Bro. Billy Whatley assisting. Interment will be in Rowan Cemetery, Caledonia MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Zeda was born February 10, 2001 to Ann Lee Smith Baker and the late Christopher Ovin Putnam in Starkville, MS. She was a 7th grade student at Victory Christian Academy and attended Real Life Church, Columbus, MS. Zeda helped start the greenhouse and worked with PeeWee Basketball at Victory. She loved the outdoors, fishing and especially her rescued German Shepherd/Wolf dog. Zeda loved practical jokes, was always happy, and she loved kids. Zeda is survived by her mother - Ann Lee Smith Baker, Columbus, MS; brother - Jeradd Scott Baker, Columbus, MS; sister - Mara Kay Smith, Columbus, MS; maternal grandparents - Jimbo and Kay Smith, Columbus, MS and a host of family and friends. Pallbearers will be Brandon Moore, Lance Wilhite, Cory Thompson, Zack Eads, Codey Eads, Luke Hudgins, and Colby Shaw. Honorary pallbearers will be her classmates at Victory Christian Academy, Dr. Calvin French and staff at Blair Batson Children's Hospital, Texas Christian Children's Hospital and Dr. Nidhy Varghese.
