Jerald Lamar Smith, 70, of Columbus, MS, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at his residence.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 29, 2025, from 11:00 A.M to 1:00 P.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Service will be Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens, Columbus, MS, with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Smith was born November 27, 1954, in Columbus, MS to the late Annelle Cooper Haskett and Tom Smith. He worked with Cherokee for over 10 years and then began working at West Brothers Construction for 25 years.   Mr. Smith has a vast knowledge of construction and was well respected in the construction industry. He enjoyed watching tv, Alabama football, and has a lifelong love for mustang cars.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his brothers- David Smith and John Smith.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Margaret Shepherd Smith; son, Jason (Ashley) Lamar Smith; daughter, Kristi (Shay) Knight; grandchildren- Jase Knight and Braxton Knight; siblings- Tom (Alice) Smith, Jackie Smith, and Patricia (Steve) Andrews.

Pallbearers will be- Jason Smith, Shay Knight, Larry Richardson, Jason Morgan, Landon Boyd, and Clay Terrell. Honorary Pallbearers will be- Ronnie West, Steve West, Rob Winklepleck, Todd Odom, Chuck Skinner, and John Watson.
